Kreativ Blogger Award

Thanks to Nikki, I have felt an enormous amount of pressure to continue this Kreativ Blogger business and discuss six things about myself. Afterwards, I am going to try to think of six people to continue, but I'm not sure I know of six people with blogs, so we'll see about that.

1. I don't think this is a legitimate medical term, but I believe I have overactive tear ducts. For some reason, I cry a lot. When I laugh, even if it's not a real big laugh, tears pour out of my eyes. When I see a commercial about a little girl eating cereal with her mom, I tear up a little bit. Actually, I tear up a good bit during commercials. Just the other day, I was driving down the road that leads to our house, and there I am just crying away, all by myself, for no reason whatsoever. It's so weird, and extremely embarrassing. There are tons of songs out there that make me tear up. I always, always, always cry when I hear church choirs sing hymns, especially Amazing Grace, and I cry when I hear children's choirs. I cry when Aaron does anything at all that is sweet or romantic. I know for a fact that I get this from my mom, except I am one hundred times worse than her. So, thanks, Mom. I'm not real sure when this started, because I used to be able to make fun of her for it, but now I would be the pot calling the kettle black.

2. Since we have moved into this house, Aaron and I take Jake for a walk around our neighborhood almost everyday, and it has become one of my favorite things to do. It is 30 minutes out of the day that we don't talk about anything important or extremely relevant and we can just chat. I try to steer Aaron away from discussing anything political, economical, or pretty much anything factual, but oftentimes I lose that battle. We could never do this in Starkville because we lived on a busy highway, so we are taking advantage of having a neighborhood that is exactly half a mile. It is a sweet time for the Rice family to be together.

** Side note: I just heard this coming from my kitchen, "I can't wait for my new foot to come in the mail." Can you say you've ever heard that? **

3. There is something that I desperately want to do but have never announced it, so here it goes. For a reason unknown to anybody, myself included, I have a HUGE desire to want to sing karaoke at a crowded bar. But here is the catch: I would only do it if I could do it with Aaron and we were singing American Pie by Don Mclean. How weird is that? In my head, it looks like so much fun, because Aaron and I both know every word to the song and anytime it comes on the radio, we must sing the entire six minute song at the top of our lungs. If it ever happens in real life, and I am fairly confident it will, I promise I will put it on YouTube. It will be the best six minutes of your life.

4. Magee, Mississippi is a black hole in my mind. When I am traveling from Jackson to Hattiesburg, or the other way around, I can never, ever remember if I have gone through Magee. Magee is a very hard town to miss and the exact half way point between the two towns. It even has a Bops now. But it never fails that I just drive right through it with my blinders on, and when I get to either Collins or Mendenhall, I have to think real hard about whats going on. There is no logical explanation.

5. All of my friends are getting pregnant at once. I get a phone call two or three times a week with a new announcement. What's up with that?

6. I thought about using my sixth spot to talk about my extreme pet peeves of incorrect grammar, misspelled words, and when people do not R.S.V.P., but I'm going to change directions and announce to the world that I really want Aaron to shave his head. I drop very subtle hints ALL the time, but I'm just going to go ahead and put it out there plain as day. It's been a long time coming.

I'm going to forward these people the Kreativ Blogger Award:

Liz Taylor, because she is also the wife of a first year law student, and it always makes me feel better to know that I am not going through this alone.

Adrea Maxwell, because she is now my sister in law and I can get nosy without feeling guilty.

Rossie Koon, because she is a good college friend and I love reading her blog. Also, she gave me some awesome encouragement about my job search.

And I'm not going to ask Haley Wachdorf, my other sister in law, to do this, because I'm pretty sure she did this a while back. I just wanted a good excuse to show her blog off, because it is brilliant and I wish she would update it at least three times a day. She has a 13 month old little girl, so that will never happen, but the world would be a better place if it did (no pressure, Haley, but I will be the first person to buy your book).

Thanks for the award! I'll post sometime today or tonight! It will give me something to blog about since I'm without a dog or a husband for the week! :)
